The BEACHBOX
The BEACHBOX is a modest 2 bedroom, 1 bath single wide mobile home with 840 square feet. It has a fully equipped kitchen, open floor plan living room, large TV with streaming capability, and full internet access. It is located in a small park that has only 7 other mobile homes. The park, as I affectionally refer to as ‘The Trailer-Hood’, is a neighborhood of great people. It is imperative that any person visiting the BEACHBOX always respects the property and the neighbors. The neighbors are originally from all different states and come to enjoy a relaxing, stress-free time. Parking in The Trailer Hood can be challenging at times, but everyone is gracious and accommodating. The BEACHBOX has two assigned parking spots, one in front and one on the side. However, if it is a full house in The Trailer-Hood complete with golf carts, boats, and ATV’s, parking can get tight. Always be courteous and polite to all those staying in The Trailer-Hood and you will find that everyone is very accommodating, and any parking issues can be quickly resolved.
Smoking is prohibited inside the BEACHBOX. Accidental fires and mobile homes do not go hand in hand, so there is no smoking inside. Feel free to smoke outside but again, please be courteous to the neighbors and the property.
A few photos of the BEACHBOX are below. It is a work in progress and someday soon I hope to be completely finished with the remodel work. But everyday I think of something else I would like to do!
Please note: These photos are of early remodeling. Most of the furniture has been replaced with new. I will get updated photos as soon as possible.

Where to go and What to do
Holden Beach is a full vacation spot all on its own. But the close proximity to other beaches and other vacation towns makes it that much better. At Holden Beach you can enjoy the undercrowded beaches all day if you like, rent boats to ride the waterway, book a deep-sea fishing charter, rent jest skis, play golf, visit the waterslide, swim at the public pool, or take scuba diving lessons.
If you have a desire for the crowded, up-tempo vacation towns such as Myrtle Beach or Wilmington, you are just a short drive away. Oak Island is a traveler’s favorite as well and is only 20 miles from Holden Beach, and the very popular Southport is only 22 miles away. (I highly recommend a visit to Southport while you are here) you can head north 35 miles to Wilmington or south 35 miles to N. Myrtle Beach! There are plenty of things to do and places to see all around Holden Beach. For those with kiddos or adults who are still a kid at heart, the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher is always a fun day trip. You can catch the Ferry from Southport and ride out to Kure Beach and Fort Fisher to visit the aquarium.
I regularly visit N. Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, Cherry Grove, and Murrells Inlet whenever I am at Holden Beach. It is a short ride, and the restaurants and tourist attractions are well worth it. I’ve also ventured north into Wilmington, enjoying all that city has to offer. The Battleship of North Carolina is a main attraction going into Wilmington, several beaches in that area including Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Bald Head Island are excellent places to visit. They all have great restaurants and great shops!
I love the flexibility of venturing out to the crowded beach towns and sight seeing, coming back to end the day with quietness under the oaks at the BEACHBOX.

Lets Eat!
There are several great restaurants at Holden Beach. Some of my personal favorites are The Salty Dog Café, The Cove, Mermaids, SmacNally’s, Dockside Seafood and my all time favorite and must go every time I am at the BEACHBOX is Provision Company. It is located on the water right below the BEACHBOX. It has great burgers, sandwiches, fish, and much more. It also has a vivid bar and often times will have live music on the upper deck. It’s just my favorite place to go, grab a quick, reasonably priced meal with a great relaxing atmosphere. After that, you must go by Beaches and Cream and get a scoop of the best ice cream ever made!
I recommend all the restaurants at Holden Beach. I also highly recommend the Fishy Fish Café in Southport, and several steak houses in N. Myrtle Beach. (Logan’s is my favorite) There are also several ‘all you can eat seafood buffets’ and more than enough fast-food options.
Eating out can be expensive, so the BEACHBOX has a fully functional kitchen. It is not a gourmet kitchen by any means, but you can make more than sandwiches or a can of spaghetti. Feel free to use the kitchen as you need. Unfortunately, there is no dishwasher! Dishes will have to be washed by hand. I keep a supply of paper plates, plastic forks and paper cups for you to use to hopefully cut down on the dish washing. Food Lion is located less than a mile away and there is a self-serve ice machine right up the road.

The Million Dollar View
The view from the bridge crossing onto the Holden Beach Island from the mainland is nothing short of breathtaking, and it is a view that you will never forget. I could not build this website and not mention this bridge, this view, and this experience. There aren’t enough words to describe it, you just have to see it to believe it.
